Angus Porter was appointed as a non-executive director on 1 April 2016 and Chairman on 27 April 2017. Angus has held numerous executive and non-executive roles, including senior roles within Mars Confectionery Ltd and he was also Managing Director at BT Group Plc. He was also Chief Executive of the Professional Cricketers Association until March 2016. He is currently Senior Independent Director of Punch Taverns Plc, Co-Chairman of Direct Wines Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of TDC A/S.

Georgina Harvey was appointed as an independent non-executive director in February 2014 and then appointed Senior Independent Director on 24 May 2016. Georgina is a non-executive director of William Hill Plc and Big Yellow Group Plc. Between 2005 and 2012 Georgina was Managing Director, Regionals Division and a member of the Executive Committee of Trinity Mirror plc.

Sharon Brown was appointed as a non-executive director in February 2014. Sharon is a non-executive director of Fidelity Special Values Plc and F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust plc. Between 1998 and 2013 Sharon was Finance Director and Company Secretary of Dobbies Garden Centres Ltd and between 1991 and 1998, she held a senior financial position within the retail division of John Menzies plc.

Jens was appointed as a non-executive director in July 2017.  Jens is Chief Executive Officer of Pizza Hut Restaurants in the UK. He joined the Pizza Hut business in February 2009 and has since led a private equity funded buyout of its dine-in restaurants. Prior to his involvement with Pizza Hut, Jens spent five years with Yum! Brands, working in the UK and in Europe.  He has also previously worked for Nestle and McKinsey in various European countries.

James was a co-founder of the Group in 1973, becoming Chief Executive in 1990 and then Chairman and Chief Executive in 1995. Under his direction McColl's has grown to be the largest independent neighbourhood retailer in the UK. James led a management buyout of the business in 1995, a secondary buyout in 2005 and IPO in 2014.  In July 2014 he relinquished the role of Chairman to focus on his role as Chief Executive and between 1 April 2016 and 27 April 2017 he held the position of non executive Chairman before stepping down into his current role of non-executive director.
